We support our employees to stay well both in and outside of work.

Annual Leave

Our generous annual leave package means full-time staff are entitled to 39 days a year annual leave. This includes 27 days annual leave, eight Bank Holidays, as well as four extra ‘SYHA Days’ of leave.

Our other leave options include maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, adoption leave, and dependent and carers leave.


Most of our roles offer flexibility around the hours you can work. As long as your contracted hours are completed, and you can do the work you need to do, you can work between 7.45am and 6.30pm.

Westfield Health

We’ve teamed up with Westfield Health to offer all our employees free healthcare benefits and services. The Westfield Mosaic benefits scheme can save you money on healthcare, including visits to the optician, dentist, and alternative therapies.


We work with Westfield Health and Cornerstone to offer free or subsidised counselling.

We’ve signed up to CycleScheme, which saves you money on the cost of a new bike and accessories.

All our people get discounted memberships at Virgin Active and Sheffield International Venues gyms. You can also save money on Pure Gym membership using SYHA Rewards.

Commuter travel club

We’re part of the Commuter Travel Club, which offers our employees discounts on monthly bus tickets with First Bus services across South Yorkshire.


Most of our salary bands are made up of four salary increments. When you first start in your role, you’ll be on the first increment of your salary band. The second increment is based on performance in your role, and the third and fourth increments are based on how long you've worked with us.


When you start working with us, you’ll be automatically enrolled* in our defined contribution pension scheme. You contribute 4% of your salary, and South Yorkshire Housing Association put in 4%, too. 

*providing you are aged between 22 and the state retirement age, and earn over £10,000 per year with SYHA.

Life cover

Our life cover policy provides three times your salary to your nominated beneficiary(s).
